Two sturgeon derbies are slated for June 8, 2002 out of the Ilwaco Marina. The annual Ed’s Bait Shop Sturgeon Derby with a grand prize of $1,000 for the heaviest fish will run parallel to the exclusive Bud’s Columbia River Challenge. The entry fee for Ed’s Bait Shop derby is $10 per person. The booth will open at 2:00 p.m. for weigh in; fish must be at the scale by 4:30 p.m. to qualify.
