DescriptionThe second largest city festival in the Western United States, the non-profit, Garden Grove Strawberry Festival opens Friday evening with the ceremonial cutting of the world’s largest strawberry shortcake served free to over 2,000 people. The 10 a.m. Saturday parade with TV and film celebrities, floats, bands and equestrians, is annually attended by over 80,000. 41 New, big carnival rides, contests, food booths, games, autograph signings, and live musical entertainment. Over 100 vendor booths. Lots of delicious strawberry treats. Contests, including the Berry, Berry Beautiful Baby Contest, Redhead Roundup, Strawberry Idol Karaoke, and Tiny Tots King and Queen, draw hundreds to the festival’s 550-seat amphitheater every year. All festival proceeds benefit local charities and schools. The festival has raised over $4.2 million since 1958.
PerformersA variety of musical and dance acts perform in the festival's 550-seat amphitheater and on the Showmobile throughout the 4-day festival.
