DescriptionThe Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival is the largest wildlife festival in Alaska. It is held in early May during the peak of the shorebird migration. More than 100,000 shorebirds representing up to 25 species are the focus of the four-day weekend. Birding workshops, field trips, bay cruises, flight seeing, visual and performing arts, children's activities and a wooden boat festival are part of the event. Leading birding experts are invited each year to give the Keynote Address.
