DescriptionParticipants fishing from the beaches, fishing from boats, or cast fishing with a rod and line compete in this sportsman's event, beginning in the wee hours of the morning. They are encouraged to catch as many 'kasago," "isaki" (grunt), "kisu" (sillaginoid), "tai" (sea bream), "megina," "ishidai" (false parrot fish), and other popular fish as they can, to be weighed at 11 a.m. in the local harbor. Coupons for free accommodations are available, and a trophy is offered as the prize.
