Imagination Theater Dear Event Planner,
I wanted to introduce you to Chicago’s award-winning Imagination Theater, now celebrating its 40th consecutive season, in the hopes that you’ll consider inviting us to perform at your upcoming festival.
Imagination Theater is a touring social issues company specializing in a unique style of interactive theater technique to address social issues, educate communities, and improve life quality for participants of all ages. With 550 presentations and workshops to 120,000 participants every year, we offer a wide range of programming, including a performance that is a perfect fit for summer festival events (on children’s or family stages).
Playin’ Around features two of Imagination Theater’s professional actors and a keyboardist. Using guided improvisation and audience participation, the characters of PJ, Stretch, and Thumbs teach both children and adults the four basic tools of drama: VOICE, MOVEMENT, FEELINGS, and IMAGINATION. The show culminates with an improvisational scene created and performed by the true stars of the show: The Audience!
This popular performance has been featured at such venues and events as: Navy Pier’s Skyline Stage, Navy Pier’s Family Pavilion Stage, Chicago Cultural Center, South Shore Cultural Center, Brookfield Zoo, Naper Settlement, Borders Books & Music, Printer’s Row Book Fair, Northcenter’s RIBFEST, SEARS Theatre Fever, Retro on Rosco, and Rock Around the Block, to name a few.
Please call or email me if you’d like more information.
Thanks for your consideration,
Aimee-Lynn Newlan, Executive Director
