Morro Bay Harbor FestivalMorro Bay, California, USA
10/2/2010 - 10/3/2010
DescriptionThe Morro Bay Harbor Festival is an annual celebration of the Central Coast's unique food, wine, lifestyle and working waterfront. It is held on the first full weekend in October every year.
Since its inception, a primary goal of the festival has been to bring together a broad cross-section of the community -- members of the fishing industry, civic and community groups, marine-related enterprises, small business, corporations, artisans, environmental organizations and individual citizens -- to focus public awareness on the special value of Morro Bay's harbor and environs. The Morro Bay Harbor Festival Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(c) 3 community-benefit organization. Festival proceeds benefit the more than 40 nonprofit organizations throughout San Luis Obispo County who contribute over 1000 volunteers to help crew the waterfront weekend. Over the past 10 years, the Festival Volunteer Program has awarded more than $400,000 to participating nonprofit groups.
