DescriptionRaku Arts & Crafts Festival, a free event that celebrates the ancient Japanese pottery method called Raku, which is used today by contemporary potters.
Throughout the festival, attendees will be able to observe practitioners of the Raku craft as they fire, decorate and glaze pottery pieces. There will also be Japanese Tea Ceremonies, dancers, musical performers, kids games, food vendors, and arts and crafts on display and available for purchase. Visitors will enjoy authentic Asian and American delectable foods!

PerformersThe featured guest speaker is internationally known Raku artist Jim Romberg, who will demonstrate the art of Raku, Saturday morning and afternoon. Mr. Romberg’s workshops are well known throughout the US, France, Geneva, and Switzerland. Jim authored and organized “Raku Summit 2005: Origins, Impact and Contemporary Expression”, which showed at the ASU Art Museum last winter. Jim currently is the Director of the Eagleheart Center for Arts & Inquiry.
