DescriptionThe Austin Celtic Festival presents Celtic music, dance demonstrations, workshops, a cultural heritage area, historical reenactments and demonstrations, vendors of fine arts, crafts, apparel and imports, and childrens Scottish games. Celtic Dog Parades and historical reenactments, as well as workshops and Hurling demos.
There will be a full day of Highland Games competition on Saturday, The Austin Celtic Festival is a family event in a park setting, an opportunity to start holiday shopping while listening to traditional and modern Celtic music, hear stories, watch dramatic presentations and dance demonstrations, and sample foods from Celtic Lands.
The Austin Celtic Festival features the finest local and regional performers of Irish, Breton and Scottish traditional music, pipe and drum bands, harpists, folksingers, Celtic rock, storytellers and traditional dancers.
Performers2009 Headliners - 4 international headliners and 11 Select Regional and Local Irish, Scottish and Welsh bands, 5 dance troupes, storytellers. Reinactment groups (Celtic, Roman and Medieval), Sheep dog heading demostrations, Music and Dance workshops, full competition Highland Games. Over 30 Celtic craft and food vendors.
