Rockport's Gospel Music Festival began in 1995 as a gospel music concert sponsored by the “Rockport’s Gospel Force” police quartet. It has been the goal from the beginning to give local citizens and visiting Winter Texan friends alike an enjoyable afternoon and evening of Christian entertainment and praise through gospel music. The Gospel Music Festival has grown larger and larger each year. The Gospel Music Festival has grown from just a few hours in the evening back in 1995 to a three-day event beginning in 2007.
